Bicycle and Pedestrian Planning Bike Study and Route Maps - (October 2005) In late 2004, the RPO initiated a regional bicycle study to develop and analyze existing and potential bicycle routes in the 5 designated counties. Municipal Sidewalk Inventory (February 2007) The staff from the Piedmont Triad Rural Planning Organization is partnering with local planning staff to conduct field work in 22 municipalities. The purpose of this field work is to gather data on sidewalk characteristics and locations. This information will be used for a variety of local and regional purposes, including but not limited to reducing physical barriers to walking, maintaining American Disability Act compliance of curb cuts, and continuing to integrate bicycle and pedestrian needs into local transportation planning. Caswell County Senior Center Trail Plan
- The Caswell County Senior Center Trail Plan materialized out of
discussions with the Caswell County Senior Center, the Piedmont Triad
Council of Governments Aging and Planning Departments, the Caswell County
Parks and Recreation Department, Health Department, and Recreation
Commission. The plan is designed to show citizens of Caswell County
the benefit of tying together parks, schools, and the new senior center and
will encourage the development of other trail connection projects throughout
the County. The development of the plan was made possible through the
Area Agency on Aging Title III-D project funding, designed to promote health
and physical activity among senior adults.
