City of Eden Transportation Plan Do you want better roads in Eden? How about sidewalks in town? Interested in greenways for walking or biking? In 2007, the North Carolina Department of Transportation, in cooperation with the City of Eden, embarked on a comprehensive transportation plan for the City and adjacent area. That planning process is now winding down, and the recommendations for future transportation improvements are available for public review and comment.
In the fall of 2007, a transportation needs survey was distributed to the general public to
provide input into the planning process. Here is the link to the results:
Thoroughfare plans for the City of Eden were last prepared in 1992, but were never adopted locally or by the state. The draft maps linked below are PDF versions of the proposed improvements to the transportation network in and around Eden, NC. We want to know what you think about the proposed changes to the transportation network. Submit your comments here. Next Steps Following the public review and comment on these proposals, a final draft of the maps and plan will be prepared for each jurisdiction to consider, along with the Piedmont Triad RPO and the North Carolina Board of Transportation. This process will occur over the next few months. Reference Information & Maps
