Caswell County Transportation Plan Do you want better roads in Caswell County? How about sidewalks in town? Interested in greenways for walking or biking? In 2005, the North Carolina Department of Transportation, in cooperation with Caswell County, the Town of Milton and the Town of Yanceyville embarked on a comprehensive transportation plan covering all three jurisdictions. That planning process is now winding down, and the recommendations for future transportation improvements are available for public review and comment. In 2006, a transportation needs survey was distributed to the general public to provide input into the planning process. You can review a summary of the results here. Thoroughfare plans for Caswell County and the Town of Yanceyville were last prepared for each jurisdiction in 1992, but were never adopted locally or by the state. The draft maps linked below are PDF versions of the proposed improvements to the transportation network in Caswell County, Yanceyville and Milton. We want to know what you think about the proposed changes to the transportation network. Submit your comments here. Next Steps Following the public review and comment on these proposals, a final draft of the maps and plan will be prepared for each jurisdiction to consider, along with the Piedmont Triad RPO and the North Carolina Board of Transportation. This process will most likely being in the fall of 2008. Reference Information & Maps
