Pay & Classification - Personnel Analysis
The most requests for PTCOG management services are related to personnel analysis. Over the 20 years PTCOG has performed personnel work, we have worked for all of our members governments in some capacity. In addition, the PTCOG has amassed an impressive reputation for quality and cost-effectiveness in delivering these services. Many local governments have contracted with the PTCOG for annual studies of their personnel costs and structure.
Personnel analysis work includes:
- classification and pay studies;
As part of classification and pay studies, a PTCOG staff member will administer questionnaires to all affected staff, conduct face-to-face interviews within each job classification, collect salary data from competitors in both the public and private sector, assign job classifications to salary grades, assign employees to both positions and job classifications, and discuss implementation costs with management and elected officials.
Recent or current work includes studies for Graham, Rockingham County, High Point, Reidsville, Jamestown, Madison, Kernersville, Winston-Salem, and the Piedmont Triad Airport Authority. Many of these have on-going contracts with the PTCOG.
