Complaint Procedure

The implementation of the Telecommunications Act of 1996 changed the nature of the complaint process for the individual subscriber and the local government. Specifically the individual subscriber may complain to the cable operator or the local franchising authority (City Council/Board or County Board of Commissioners). The process of administering the complaint by the individual subscriber should take the following course:

  • Notify the cable operator of your concern. The number to call is on the front of the cable bill.
  • If the cable operator does not respond with 24- hours notify the franchise authority. The number to call is on the front of the cable bill.
  • If the franchise authority cannot handle the complaint, contact the Cablevision Administrator at the Piedmont Triad Council of Governments to register your complaint or concerns. The name, address, and phone number is listed below. Be sure to include your name, address, phone number and/or e-mail address, the cable company providing your service, and any specific information about the type of complaint you have.
