Elder Rights

The Regional Elder Rights Program is designed to assist older adults in understanding their rights and in maintaining and exercising control over decision making. The program attempts to ensure that older adults are informed about programs and services promised by law. The program also assists older adults in resolving disputes using the most efficient and appropriate methods of representation and assistance.

Legal Assistance Development Program

The Legal Assistance Development Program is designed to enhance the consumer’s awareness of legal assistance options at the local level and to ensure the maximum participation by private and non-profit legal providers. This program offers assistance and referral through the Medicare Outlook initiative to identify Medicare recipients who have been victimized by fraudulent practices.

Elder Mistreatment Prevention and Awareness Program

The Elder Mistreatment and Awareness Program provides planning and coordination for elder mistreatment prevention and awareness activities at the regional and county levels. The program works with representatives from law enforcement, social services, senior adults as well as other concerns members of the community to form coalitions, which participate in efforts to prevent mistreatment vulnerable older adults.
